Three-Step Mechanism of Antisolvent Crystallization
Published in Crystal Growth & Design, 2022
This work used molecular dynamics to investigate histidine crystallization in aqueous-ethanol systems and identified a three-step mechanism involving competitive binding and dewetting during crystal formation.
The paper connects molecular-scale structure and solvent effects to experimentally relevant crystallization behavior.
